The Good Finds

Labels: , , ,
An eventful week. Can't even think of how to sew thoughts in a blog. Sooo... for starters, since muchacho pictures aren't uploaded yet, I'm just going to post pictures of my new friends lol

Last Friday was a "Cancel Friday" Friday since so many things did not push through. Which was a good thing though, cause I got to see Pma and Ayee. We had dinner at Halo and Ayee went to Bellini's for a pre-planned dinner with HS friends. Pma and I on the other hand went to roam around Expo. We ended up at a newly opened book store cafe "Libreria". Upon entering, we saw a table in the middle of the room with a few people seating around it seeming to have a good conversation and quite a feast. A woman in black immediately offered us pizza. That was kind of surprising and well, a bit heart warming. Expo is definitely a place to have random conversations with middle aged folks. After a few minutes she asked our names and said "I'm Gang" and she extended her hand. We then got a slice of pizza and continued to look for books.

"Whoa" I thought to myself. I have heard so much about Gang and Rock Ed but I never really bothered to look for a picture of her. To cut the long story short, the little random conversation with Gang Badoy has made me a bit giddy. :) I decided to tweet her when I got home HAHA

Anyway, so much for a bit of pseudo fangirling. I got the Dirty Dozen Comic Book on sale. It was such a good buy! I even, told my dad and he was a bit impressed with me. Hehe. I purposely chose this among other good books because it reminded me of him :)

The next day we went to BGC. After watching Xmen we went to see the balloons from the passion parade. And well, it didn't turn out so well because we ended up waiting in line to get free balloons but didn't get any :(

Good thing I remembered to pass by All Flip Flops to check out if there were size 35s of the Havs Explorer for kids. (I saw Pma wearing one the previous night and I was kind of in love with them) And Yay! They still had one in blue. As usual, when I heard it was the last pair and they were running out of stock, I immediately had to panic buy it. Pft. But that got me back in the mood sooo it isn't that bad right?

Weekends and so lurve esp when my friends and I get all clingy :p

The Brown Things

Labels: , ,
I can't think of anything to actually say on this post. I'm just feeling happy. :) It must be the weather!

So I noticed this morning that my room has a lot of brown in it. I have thought long before to add color in my room but I can't figure out how to do it. Well, no rush. Brown is good!

The brown brogues I bought with Miko weeks ago. It makes me smile. IDK why.

I miss Miko. I wish I could shop with her more often. This is another impulsive purchase and she was there to support. (how can you not love her?)

I finally gave in and bought the brown satchel from the ukay-ukay at Cubao. I first saw this when I was with Jervi. I had thought twice on buying it since I was kinda hoping I would win the Cambridge Satchel by joining the contest on Twitter but figured, that was a long shot. Besides, I was looking for a brown satchel for quite sometime so I guess, there's no reason to hold back on this baby. :p

Yes, I had to take a picture of it with my Mario :)

Sale!

Labels: ,
It was Macy's 6th bday celeb last week (I won't post pictures since I look so worn out because of the heat) and we had to go to the mall to find a gift for her. After having the gift wrapped, I went searching for Kuya to go get him and follow Mum to the grocery. He was looking for a bag at Nike's section of the dept store. We were in a hurry since we're running late (as always)

In a span of 10mins I managed to fit shoes, ask Kuya which is nicer, ask for a new stock and pay for the pair.

Sale is evil. I had no plans of buying shoes that day but since those snicks were on the shelves teasing with the 30% off tag, I could not resist. :)

Is Shopwise Misleading their Customers?

Labels: ,
Last night, we dropped by Shopwise Araneta to do grocery chores. It's very essential since it's Holy week already and we have to stack some fish for the no-meat-meals. So here's the scenario.

The lady in front of us had complained about the Cream Dory she was about to purchase. I was talking to mum so next thing I know, she left without purchasing anything and left all the items she took at the counter.

Our turn. When the cashier punched the Dory we took, mum was surprised that the price reflected on the screen was P109.00. There was a sticker type bar code on the left side portion of the item's label that indicates 85.00. (the bar code looks like the picture below.)

So this was the issue of the lady in front of us huh. The cashier called a supervisor who instructed her to just call someone from the "Fresh" section to have it weighed and stick another bar code. My mum asked the cashier,

Mum: "Ano yung 85.00? Akala ko naman yun yung price nung Dory" (So what's 85.00? I thought it was the price of the Dory).
Cashier: "Ma'am, manufacturer's bar code po yun" (Ma'am, that's the manufacturer's bar code)

Implying that the manufacturer's bar code is different from the supermarket's bar code. Right?

Then, that someone from the "Fresh" section came back with the Dory with a new bar code. It read "P91.00". So mum goes "Bakit 91.00 na? Akala ko naman ico-correct lang yung bar code to 85.00" (Why did it become 91.00? I thought you would just correct the bar code to reflect it was actually 85.00) The cashier told us that they already weighed the fillet and that was the actual price.

Holy smokes. We ended up with no Dory! :( My mother got pissed already.

What the eff?

1. The item had a sticker indicating 85.00 when in fact, it was not the price of the fillet. Why didn't they change it or cover it so consumers would not think that it was the actual price?
2. If it was the manufacturer's bar code, why did the cashier USE THE SAME BAR CODE and punched it on their system? Isn't it odd? The manufacturer's bar code is different from the Supermarket's bar code but you punch it anyway?

Some consumers may not look at the screen while the cashier inputs the items they are about to purchase. Say we didn't see it, we would've paid for 109.00 for a Dory my mum took from their fridge because she thinks it costs 85.00. Plus, every time a consumer notices that the price of Dory was actually not 85.00, the cashier would call a supervisor and let the customers wait? THAT'S A LOT OF HASSLE.

This isn't the first time we encountered such an incident at the said supermarket. Sometime last year, they had this Vegetable Oil on Sale. At Shopwise Araneta, sale items are on the middle of an isle with short bond sized papers reflecting prices plastered below the stack of goods. Again my mom took the veg oil because it was on sale. At the cashier, the price called by their system was still the old price of the item (which was 10.00 higher than the sale price). We didn't notice it until my mum reviewed the receipt. She was already done with signing the receipt for the credit card and stuff. She complained and they returned the 10.00 in coins. Yay. They said the system was not updated or had a problem or whatever.

I wonder how many trusting consumers paid for more than they expected because of the system error huh?

I think they should exert more effort in solving this problem. In the same way, consumers should never trust prices plastered on their goods cause some of them aren't read in their system/machines/computers thus, fake.

Basic Motor Car Claims Processor's Seminar
MIIC Alabang 8 Apr 2011

MIIC Alabang/Training Room/9 Apr 2011

So the week long seminar came to an end yesterday, 09 Apr 2011.

From Alabang, we went to Market Market for tiangge. I had no plans of buying anything but well, I am just human.

Look at the details of the items I bought

I wore the white lace ups from Ichigo the whole day. They're so pretty but I don't think they're made for whole day walking.

After Market Market, I went straight to Rockwell for the Coachella Bazaar.

Free photo booth! Coachella Rockwell Bazaar with Ayee and Iya

I bought this pair of rainbow espadrilles. they're so comfy I wanted to use them right away hehe. It's inner sole is made of abaca and is softer than the usual espadrilles (said the person manning the booth) I dont remember the brand/name of the store since they placed the shoes in a blank shoe box and plastic bag. Plus, while buying, we heard that Iya won the 1k GC, we were so distracted. Haha Congrats Iya! And Ayee since the GC ended up to be a nice pair of shoes for her. Thanks as well since they didn't let me pay my utang as a form of charity lol.

Anyway, this pair is sooo gay hehe i love it. I was supposed to get the blue and white stripes but Ayee said, it's already somewhat similar to my B Sides pair.

On other news, I saw nice pairs of Oxfords at Sole Service but they were a bit pricey/out of my budget. They launched these pairs at the bazaar. I was not able to take pictures but they're so niiice. Like eye candies hehe. I would probably buy one if I still have extra money :) Material is good, nice colors, design and details, plus it looks durable and comfy. I like the sole and stitches as well.

Ok so going back. I bought a pair of Tan Barca III from Suelas. I wore this pair today. I love it's inner sole. Hehe violet and soft. :p

It comes with a "bag"

"Flatten It, Fold It, Roll It. "

Look! they have GK Payatas 13 as partners in handcrafting these shoes. :)

They have many designs. I want to buy more hehe Here's their website: http://www.suelasonline.com/

That's all. Ciao! :))

Shoes! :)

Labels: , ,

I have been very kuripot on myself for the past six months. I spent so much last December. Bought gifts for friends and family, ate out a lot, took cabs whenever I went somewhere and of course shopped for myself - finally. Aside from clothes (I only bought cheap ones), I spent my money on shoes. I bought 3 pairs in a span of a month. I had ordered the red Oxfords at Glenmore (it looks kinda pink on the picture, bad camera!), bought the Slamjam design of B-Sides from Sueno de Espadrilles (the classics were always as in ALWAYS out of stock), and bought the Cat in the Hat Dr. Seuss Chuck Taylors from Converse out of impulse (I got the size 3, biggest size for kids. I bought a cheap black espadrilles and a thong slippers (like one of those with beads you would usually wear on summers, idk what they're called) at Greenhills last week. Yey!

Oh I'm one happy kid.

I'm thinking of Glenmore's boat shoes and Renegade/PabDer loafers. Mmm. :)
